I wonder...Do You Have Creative Interests Other Than Blogging About Books?

b918e9f12ab846125fdb03d9ffd26b18[2]

Do you have creative interests other than blogging about books? If so, do you have a separate blog?

I enjoy photography - even though I don't know very much about it - and I do have a blog I started recently called Lynne's Lens. I used to write poetry (mostly rhymes), but I haven't done that in years. Singing? Painting? I can barely draw stick figures and I can't sing worth beans. One thing I can do is whistle. I can whistle for my son a mile away and I can whistle like a songbird or an old man's tune.

What about you? I'd like to know...and feel free to link to your other website(s).

Ha, I can't really whistle to save my life. 9 times out of ten, it comes out more like I am trying to blow out a candle or something.

I do have a thrifty decorating blog, but ever since the move I have lost that loving feeling. Something about moving all of those thrifty treasures just made me realize that living with less is a really good thing.

I also paint, sew, bead, garden, and lately, have really gone crazy in the kitchen. Want some peach jam or lemon marmalade?

If you are curious about my paintings, here is a good post to check out, http://murphygrace.blogspot.com/2009/07/i-blame-it-all-on-beer.html

<DIV>Gwen, I follow your personal blog now too. Your paintings are beautiful. I could never do that. And you sew, bead, garden and cook? And I whistle...uh, you win. Hehe</DIV> <DIV></DIV> <DIV>Your post about tapeworm and the picture of you in the dog house was hilarious.

I really need to post something on there to get rid of that tapeworm post! How embarrassing, go check out my blog, where I talk about cool things like tapeworms!

Trust me, whistling would come in really handy lately and is a lot less work to move.

I really enjoyed your photography skills, keep at it! I may be hitting you up for tips on your macros, I can't seem to get those right with my digital.

I do have other interests, but don't blog about them. I tried to with photography, but it got to be too much and chose to blog about books only.

I can whistle, but can't carry a tune to save my life!
I write poetry and I actually used to post it on my blog, but I have since stopped. I'm considering doing it again. I think it's always a good idea to show all the sides of you.
My recent post Three Reviews, Finally
I do have a personal blog where I write about my family life, my past life and just weird things I think about. I actually started with that one and did a book review or two before realizing I should probably split them out into two separate blogs before the book stuff took over. I wish I could whistle!!

I love to scrap...initially I blogged about scrapbooking and my pages with family tidbits thrown in here and there. But my real passion is books. I do love photography. Not great at it but there are times when I snap a great photo!

Staci, that's how I am with photos...every once in awhile I'll take a really good one and just go WOW, I'm good. Ha! Not very often though :) Usually it's just a fluke.

Good post Lynne... interesting to read the comments.
As you already know, I too love photography and gah...I have let that blog slide this last month. I have still taken photos, but have slowed down because I need to catch up...a vicious cycle. I do like to keep a photo blog as I like the record of my photos that I am creating. I think it will be interesting to look back at, see how i have changed or not. It also seems to have become an offshoot about my life...weird how that happen because that was not my intent. I guess that shows you how personal photography is to me.

BTW: I have viewed your recent photos...I like them. Viewed them in Google Reader and have been meaning to comment on the blog...will do so.

Don't feel like you have to comment on my photos. Just as long as you SEE them and ADMIRE them. Hehe :)

Hey, Lynne - I love these "I wonder" posts....

For the record, I've toyed with having another blog.... I do photography as well, but I let my hubby maintain that blog. Maybe one day when I'm doing photography full time, I'll take that piece over. I'm considering talking my book club into starting a blog where we review the books but also post recipes & share pictures. Sometimes though, maintaining mine the way I want to takes more time than I have!

Elisabeth-Babette: Sometimes you have to set boundaries with blogging; it's so addictive. I've got a blog for photography, a personal blog, my book review blog and a blog for my son's basketball team. Where does it end!

I have other interests but only have two blogs. I started my personal blog first-- on it, I post about nature/gardening, cooking, dining, travel, humor, family, do photo memes. I had to start a bookblog because I'm the only bookworm in my family and didn't want to bore them with books on my blog--- it is the best thing I did-- I've met so many wonder bloggy bookworms to chat about reading with. Now, my personal blog has more nonfamily followers than family-- because of photo memes-- but it is so fun meeting new people!

I've actually considered starting a cooking only blog or restaurant review blog. I'm addicted to blogging!

here is a the url to my personal blog if you'd like to check out my photo meme entries: http://dustyus.blogspot.com/

I'm off to check out your photo blog now! :o)
