I don't believe in day-to-day astrological readings - Today someone will give you a lot of money (I wish) - but I think there's something to the characteristics of the signs people are born under.
I'm a Scorpio and am stubborn, passionate, loyal, and have few but close friends. I'm not shy, but I am reserved. I'm picky about who I get close to, but once you're my friend you're pretty much stuck for life.
I'm also an introvert. I always thought signs correlated with whether or not one is an introvert or extrovert, but my husband is also a Scorpio and he's an extrovert. He can handle being alone for about a day and that's it. Me, I would love to be stranded on a deserted island as long as I had books to read.
A psychologist once told me this: If you're an introvert your battery becomes depleted by being with people and is recharged by being alone. If you're an extrovert your battery becomes depleted by being alone and is recharged by being with people.
I want to know about you!
So for fun, tell me:
1) What is your astrological sign?
2) Are you an introvert or extrovert?
3) Do you think introverts are more likely to be readers than extroverts?
Come back and read the comments or subscribe to comments if you'd like.

I think readers may tend to be more introverted. Not all of us, but I would think over half.

I'm a Pisces - very introverted and crowds or too many people around I find exhausting. Like Sheila I enjoy the times my super extrovert hubby goes away and I can be all alone.
I think readers are probably more likely to be introverts.

I
am a sagittarius - direct, intellectual, traveller and sportsperson. I think I could ackowledge the first two as being me, the third a little less so but I have done a fair bit of travelling. Im the opposite of a sportsperson though - more of a couch person.
I am definitely an introvert. I have some close friends and I am not very social otehrwise. I find it hard to make friends and talk to people I don't know.
And I do think that readers are more likely to be introverts as well. Simply because we are in our comfort zone when we are alone, and reading is a very solitary activity. Its almost like reading gives us what we have trouble doing ourselves. We can be social by reading about other people, rather than actually talking to them.
That's actually kind of sad when you think about it.

NOT ME....Introvert here! I love my alone time, and like you Lynne, would be very content alone as long as I had my books (and cats). I love the HUB (extrovert), but he is far more content being a homebody since we've been together these last 13 years.
When I am with lots of people, I dread it, and though I'm social when I with people, I am am totally mentally exhausted afterward.

I'm also an introvert and love being alone. In fact I need to be alone or I feel 'off'. I love the comment from the pychologist above (makes sense to me).
I know plenty of extroverts who love to read so I'm not sure if I can pick one over the other.

I'm a Taurus, and think I'm more of an introvert. My battery is definitely recharged by being alone! I tend to think introverts would be readers, but I've known a handful of extroverts that read just as much, so it's hard to say.

I believe that introverts are more likely to be readers than extroverts.

So yes, I am very virgo-ish (analytical, practical, earthy, and can be overly critical) but I am more creative and artsy than is usually listed in virgo traits. I am very close to being a leo so may be why I am not as conservative as most virgos-- I am quite confident , flamboyant and even a show off-- maybe the leo influence?

In my experience I've had intro and extro friends who were regular readers--- how is that for diplomatic-- another virgo trait! (my comment was too long so I had to break it up-- apparently virgos are mouthy too)

Your mom told me about this blog since I love to read and I love this topic. I am a Scorpio, as you know just like you but I am a extrovert, and like Larry, I am okay the first day, and then I am itching to surround myself with people. Thats why I love my business, I am surrounded by people all the time, my patients, their families, my staff, doctors and nurses. I need to feel that people are around. However, I read every single minute I can, but on the couch with the TV on and Jon talking to me....I also multitask very well, oh and I think I have ADD too! Great blog Lynne. I just got done with the book Look Again and LOVED it, and now the book club is reading South of Broad....have you read it and is it good?
