I wasn't "here" last week so I'll catch you up on my reads.
Past two weeks:
The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks - Review (highly recommend)
The Little Prisoner - Review
Stiff - Review
Trauma Junkie - Review (Loved this)
Shattered Silence - Review
Birth Day - Review
Jantsen's Gift - Review (highly recommend)
Just finished:
Josie's Story. Review to come. Interesting memoir of a mom whose 18-month-old daughter was accidentally burned with hot water because of a faulty hot water heater. After a 10-day stay in the hospital, she was scheduled to go home when she suddenly had a cardiac arrest and died due to a medical error. (Very good book)
Currently reading:
Saving Israel: How the Jewish People Can Win a War That May Never End (My husband is Jewish, and I saw this at the library. Thought I'd check it out. Not sure if I'll finish.)
Ready for Library Pickup:
Dry by Augusten Burroughs
I Never Metaphor I Didn't Like: A Comprehensive Compilation of History's Greatest Metaphors
The Ask by Sam Lipsyte
I - The Creation of a Serial Killer by Jack Olsen
I Barfed on Mrs. Kenley by Jessica Harper
I don't know how many I'll finish, but that's what's on the way.
What about you? Read any of the books I've mentioned above or plan to? Come on, you know you want to read I Barfed on Mrs. Kenley. I was searching the library website for "I" The Creation of a Serial Killer and that popped up instead. It made me laugh and I just had to get it :)

I read Stiff some time ago, and it was a hoot! Thanks for your review. I really enjoyed that book, but it's definitely one you don't want to eat while eating dinner.
have a lovely reading week!
Another great reading week for you! I will have to check out Josie. My brother was burned as well, but thankfully, is still with us today. The methaphor books looks interesting too.
I love love love love love Augusten Burroughs, and Dry was brilliant. Enjoy. :]
I haven't read any of these titles, can't wait to see which ones you post reviews for (my TBR will get bigger).
I bring stacks of books home from the library to and don't get to read many of them. I have decided to request only audio going forward - this way I can make a copy and listen on my own time.
Have a great week!
Your reading list is amazing! So many different books. I have definitely added to my TBR list:)
I thought you were going to go for happy books??? All of them sound interesting and I love the title of the Barf book!! Hehehe :)
I love Augusten Bourroughs, even though I only read Running with Scissors-clearly I need to get more of his books! Looks like a good week coming up. You may not finish the book about Israel, but if you do I'm curious about it-I've started to feel a little hopeless about peace over there.
I - The Creation of a Serial Killer sounds really interesting. I'm excited to see what you think of it!
Have a great week!
What an interesting assortment of books you have to read this week! I hope you enjoy them and I look forward to reading your reviews.
Enjoy your books,sounds good.
I have heard of Josie's Story, but don't exactly recall where. Looking forward to your thoughts on it. Glad to hear that you liked it.
Have a good week, Lynne! :)
I just read Roach's "Spook" and loved it ... I have "Stiff" to read as well. I suspect I will read all of her books ... she has a nice blend of humor mixed in with really weird stuff!
And "Dry" was pretty good. I'm a big Burroughs fan.
Aths, I think Josie's mom (the author) was on Oprah.
Jenners, I'm going to read Spook too. Love Roach's writing.
