Review: A Reliable Wife - and Giveaway!

A Reliable Wife

by Robert Goolrick

My Synopsis

A novel set in the early 1900s about a wealthy man who places an ad in a Chicago newspaper looking for a "reliable wife." A woman responds, saying she is honest and simple, and it turns out she is not. She wants his money and plans to kill him for it. She goes to great lengths to deceive him, but in the end, he is the one with the upper hand.

My Thoughts

The description on the back of the book is as simple as my synopsis above and left me hanging and wanting more. It's hard to say much about the story without giving away the end. I can say that I enjoyed it and found it passionate, suspenseful and complex. The story panned out in a surprising way and kept me turning the pages until the juicy end. Just remember, you don't really know someone until money comes into play.

Do I Recommend? If you are looking for a quick, easy to read novel with a twist, yes!

Did that man really fall for someone who claimed to be honest? Never trust a person who claims to be honest! ;-) Nice review.. lemme head over to the giveaway!

Aths: Isn't that so true? I hate when people write in personal ads, "Honest, handsome, intelligent male looking for..." etc. It drives me crazy! Honesty in a person should be a given, you shouldn't have to announce it! Grrr...

I certainly wouldn't answer an ad where the person claimed they were honest. That's really weird.

I still don't know if I liked this book - it really caught me off guard! It's well written and I didn't want to stop reading.

Maybe if I say I liked it alot I'm afraid of what others will think?! HA
