It's Monday! What Are You Reading? March 8

This meme is now hosted by Sheila over at One Person's Journey Through a World of Books. I love to see what everyone is reading, so join in the fun.

Last week:

Did reviews on:

Animals Make Us Human
The Water Giver
Expecting Adam

Gave up on: Beautiful Creatures. Fifty pages into this book - despite the rave reviews - I decided that I do not enjoy paranormal fiction. What is wrong with me?

Currently reading: Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell

This week: Not sure yet. Just playin' it by ear.

I'm giving away The Book Thief, Benny and Shrimp, and Dear John. So if you're interested click here to enter. Contest ends March 16th.

What about you? Watch ya'll readin'?

It would be nice to have a week where I could just play it by ear lol. Happy reading this week!

Sorry to hear Beautiful Creatures didn't work out for you. Hopefully you'll find something that will really pull you in this week.

Nothing is wrong with not enjoying paranormal fiction. You just have different tastes. I have read Beautiful Creatures, but I am not a rave reviewer of it. I thought it was good, but not extraordinary in any way.

Hope you have a wonderful reading week.

I don't enjoy paranormal fiction, and therefore I don't even pick up those books! Life's too short to spend time on books we don't enjoy.

Here's mine:

I don't enjoy paranormal fiction either - or YA which seems like the big thing these days on blogs I read. Water Giver sounds good, but I don't know if I could read it. My son is younger, but I'm sure it would still be disturbing.

Paranormal books are pretty hit and miss for me, so I can feel you there.

Here is my list: http://thelostentwife.net/2010/03/07/its-monday-what-are-you-reading-11/

I absolutely LOVE your header picture! It is absolutely stunning! I can't get over it! If only my dog would hold still for such a picture!

Looks like you've been reading well. I'm sorry you didn't like Beautiful Creatures - I haven't read it yet. I am adding The Water Giver and Animals Make Us Human after reading your reviews. Thank you!

That's ok, there are a some genres that I don't like either. There are too many great books to bother with some you don't like.

You've read some very emotional books lately. I have to read three for every emotional one I read! Have a great reading week.

Good for you for bailing! I did this a few weeks ago on a Margaret Atwood selection (gasp).

Have a great week.

I want to try something by Malcolm Gladwell. I hear so much about his books but haven't even glanced at one.

And thanks for the heads-up on that pro football fishing book. Sounds promising.

I don't really get paranormal fiction either, it's very hit or miss. I unfortunately, have a sickness in which I can almost never give up on a book, so good for you at "giving it up".
Have a wonderful week of reading!

Not a fan of paranormal fiction either! I just read your review of Expecting Adam and I agree with you--after I had read it, I decided I was sorry I had. Then I did some research and found out all kinds of weird stuff about the author--then I was really sorry I had wasted the time on it. Glad to see I am not only one...

I don't love paranormal stuff either so you're not alone. :-)

So nice to know I'm not the only one who's not a paranormal fan.

Thanks to everyone for commenting on my Monday reading meme. I love Mondays, thanks to you guys!

Some genres are just hard to get into to! I really struggle with science fiction. I just don't have the imagination for it.
Have a good reading week!
