Thanks to CMash for this "Treasure" blog award. I appreciate and adore all my blog friends.
I've been out of town on a girls' ski trip to Colorado. We're all big wimps and only like to ski when the sun is shining and it's on the warmer side. Since it was snowing (oh my gosh, not that!) and cold, we went shopping and to a hot springs instead. We had a blast. And guess what. I didn't even finish the one book I was reading, A Friend of the Family. I was 100 pages into it and had to return it to the library when I got back. I hate when that happens.
The girls left me in this darling bookstore in Steamboat Springs called "Off the Beaten Path," where I could have stayed all day. It had a cozy fireplace and couch. Mmm, mmm! I bought two books there, The Bookaholics' Guide to Book Blogs and Expecting Adam.
And then when I got home I picked up a few more books from the library. It's good to be back. I missed blogging and staying in touch with everyone...and reading, of course. I was only gone for a few days and I think I went through withdrawals.
So how is everyone?

I love your headline. I am currently in Breckenridge with my husband - he is skiing, and I am reading! :--)
We live in Colorado and my favorite thing is curling up in the cabin or lodge reading in front of a roaring fire while my family ski's ! Steamboat Springs is gorgeous !
Good to see you back!! Glad that you had a great time on holiday! And, wow, that bookstore sounds so inviting!! Fireplace and couch! Nice!! :)
Darlyn: Thanks for the award. I feel blessed to have so many book friends. It's funny how much I think about and miss blogging when I'm away.
Rhapsodyinbooks: Glad I'm not the only one who prefers reading over skiing. Do you live in Breckenridge or just vacationing?
Ladybug: We had a fire going every night. So cozy. That was my first time in Colorado and I loved it.
Aths: I wish there were bookstores like that here in St. Louis instead of the big Borders and Barnes and Noble. The fireplace and couches were incredibly inviting. I'm afraid if I sat down and started reading there that I would fall asleep like I do at home!
Lynne,
We live in Tucson but my husband goes to Breckenridge and/or Park City every year. This is the first time I went along, but barely left the couch! :--)
That book store sounds perfect, and like you I never seem to do as much reading when I go on vacation. I always thing that I will have more time for reading, but it never seems to happen.
Alissa: I read more books when I go on a beach vacation with just my husband because he's not really a beach person. I could sit and read by the beach or pool for hours while he goes off on his own. But a ski trip with a bunch of girls is not conducive to reading.
Rhapsody: I used to go on business trips with my husband and LOVED sitting in the hotel or by the pool reading while he was at meetings. But if I went on a personal trip with him, I'm not sure I could get away with lying on the couch reading. :) You're lucky.
